Personal Response
At the beginning of the story, the wife feels very happy. When he came to live with her, "he was just purely hood to me. A hard worker and never lazy, and so big and fine-looking." Said the wife. "He'd come back late, and worn out, and pretty near cross for one so sweet-tempered, not wanting to talk about it." That began to worry her because her husband went out and came back so tired and strange. She feels tired was when she couldn't do any thing to change her husband, he kept away from home when the moon was out. An example from the story is "he kept away that whole day. Because he knew, I guess. It was just beginning dark of the moon." She feels grief at the end of the story when her husband died. She thought that if "if the thing was dead the spell, the curse must be done, and my husband could be coming back. " She wanted him to come back in his true form. But he didn't, he was died.
